Tecno Mobile has added another smartphones in the
Camon series – which are popularly known for their exclusive cameras and incomparable features, and the smartphones are called
Tecno Camon X with its upgraded version, called
Tecno Camon X Pro.
During its Global Spring Launch event held in Lagos, yesterday in Nigeria on the 5th of April as promised by Tecno Mobile for the launch, Tecno Mobile announced the Tecno Camon X and Tecno Camon X Pro smartphones with three other smartphones called Tecno F1, Tecno F2 and Tecno POP 1.
The main selling point of the Tecno Camon X which was carved out from Tecno Camon CX, is the selfie camera. I actually mean, why else could a phone manufacturer put a massive 24 megapixels front camera on a smartphone? So, it is obviously built with self addicts in mind.
As expected, the Tecno Camon X smartphone camera is not up to the capacity expected. It was rumoured to come with 4000mAh but unfortunately, they came up with 3750mAh battery capacity which can’t work up through a complete day. Moreover, Tecno announced Camon X offers 30% in camera and performance.
Tecno Camon X and Tecno Camon X Pro smartphones have a sleek, slim and portable design with the latest customized Tecno Mobile user interface. They run on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with a Facial recognition technology feature, called Face ID. And also, the night mode has now been improved greatly.

Key Specs Observation: In the above key specs of the Tecno Camon X and the Tecno Camon X Pro smartphones, you will notice the only difference between them are the memory storage, screen resolution, camera, color and the display. The Tecno Camon X comes with 20MP frontal or selfie camera with Dual LED brightness-adjustable flash, and 16MP rear or back camera with quad ring flash. Both the front and back camera can take a crisp and quality pictures in low light.

Thanks to the new Dual ISP image processor latest generation of technology the Tecno Camon X and the upgraded version, Camon X Pro is equipped with. The dual image processor means that two images works synchronously, the processing efficiency works better and faster, no more dark and night state and there’s now improved and advanced noise reduction in final image.
DESIGN
Tecno Mobile had greatly improved in their design for the past 2 years and Tecno Camon X and its upgraded version, Camon X Pro smartphones didn’t fall short of that glory. They are created with perfectly modern standard of polycarbonate body, with antenna band over the top.
They both have similar design. There’s no difference except for the Tecno Camon X height of 158.6 mm and width of 75.8 mm, while the Tecno Camon X Pro has height of 157.95 mm and width of 75.2 mm. They both have visual thickness of 5.2mm. Tecno Camon X measures 158.6×75.8×7.8mm in dimension, while the Tecno Camon X Pro measures 158.6 x 75.8 x 5.2mm in dimension.
The 3.5mm audio jack has been moved to the bottom, the mono speaker is below the device and the fingerprint scanner retains its usual position at the back. The volume rocker, the SIM tray which includes both SIMs and SD card, and the power button are all in one side of the phones, the right side to be specific.
The Tecno Camon X comes with three color options; Champagne Gold, Midnight Black and City Blue. While the Tecno Camon X Pro smartphone comes with two color options, which are the: Midnight Black and Bordeaux Red. In design-wise, you’ll notice that the Camon X Pro is like the Tecno Camon CX with just a smooth-shining plastic covering at the back and little bezels on the display.
PROCESSOR AND SOFTWARE
The Tecno Camon X and Tecno Camon X Pro smartphones are powered by MediaTek Helio P23 processor which is designed for midrange devices.
The Tecno Camon X has Octa-core processor clocking at 2.0GHz and the Octa-core processor is filled with system-level optimizations that can manage multitasks at once. It’s the first Tecno device to run on Android 8.1 Oreo with HiOS 3.3 custom user interface that will make it mobile friendly, smooth and fast.
Tecno Camon X Pro smartphone has (MT6763) MediaTek Helio P23 Octa-core processor clocking at 2.0GHz. It also runs on customized user interface, HiOS 3.3 based on Android 8.1 operating system. The MediaTek chipset plus the 4GB RAM makes phone blazing fast for all your daily tasks.
DISPLAY
The tecno Camon X smartphone has IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 6 inch HD+ bigger display with 18:9 apsect ratio (Netflix standard) and 2.5D curved screen with reduced bezels and it also supports multi-touch. It comes with 1440 × 720 pixels with 403ppi density. The screen has been boosted to 10% from that of
Camon CX to reach the brightness of 500 nits, which ensures readability even in direct sunlight.

MEMORY STORAGE
Tecno Camon X comes with 3GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory storage and 32GB external memory storage, expandable using a microSD. This will enable you have a fast and seamless mobile experience whether multitasking or gaming.

The Tecno Camon X and Tecno Camon X Pro smartphones supports 4G LTE network (including 2G and 3G networks) for faster internet connection and also supports WiFi and hotspot for easier sharing and receiving of mobile data.
