3 Things To Look Out For When Manchester City Play Everton Featured Image

Couch ModePrint
I wouldn’t necessarily class Everton as Manchester City’s bogey team, however, they always seem to be a constant thorn in our side.

I don’t know what it is with me and the Toffees, it’s just they have a habit of getting under my skin. In other words they irritate the heck out of me and generally get on my nerves.
A tad harsh?e
Perhaps, but there are a couple of Premier League clubs with whom I have similar feelings. Manchester United, who resemble Everton’s approach being another.
The Goodison curse
When Manchester City go to Everton, often or not we come back with our tails between our legs. For example, last season we were thumped 4-0. The season before we lost 2-1 in the League Cup but scraped a 2-0 Premier League victory.
In all competitions Everton have won six of their last nine home games against City.
Wayne Rooney
This bloke is another irritating pain in the backside – he thinks he has the God-given right to score against us. Oh, and yes, he generally does. At the last count he’s banged in 12, with 11 of them being when he played at United.

Sam Allardyce
Allardyce has been labelled by some as a manager who concentrates on playing the game, as followings:
? Play the long ball.
? Defend at all costs and if necessary, park the bus.
Is that a fair assumption?
I think so, yes.
Summary

If we nullify Rooney, score early and avoid unnecessary defensive errors we should, and I say ‘should’ slightly, come away with three points.
